How do I sign up for a DIY Famine Camp?
Locate a DIY Camp Leader near you.
Sign up and pay the camp registration fee of RM20 to your camp leader. This will cover basic camp running expenses. Upon confirmation, your camp leader will give you a coupon booklet to raise funds for the poor.  top
What is a coupon booklet? What happened to the donation card that we used to take?
Like donation cards, the coupons can be used to raise funds. The only difference is that now you will be able to issue receipts to donors directly. We hope this will improve accountability to donors. Please remember that you can only ask for donations from friends and family. Door-to-door or public solicitation is not permitted. top
Why would they believe me?
The 30-Hour Famine has an 11-year history in Malaysia, so some of them would have heard of it. If they haven’t, you can tell them what it’s about, and read up more from this website, especially the "Where does the money go" section. Know your facts! Is there a deadline for me to return the coupon booklet?
You have to return the coupon booklet and funds collected by 25 Jul 2009 to your camp leader. top
Is there a minimum amount I need to raise?
Our goal is to raise RM1.1 million. Our target, therefore, is for each student participant to raise at least RM80 and each working adult RM120. top
What happens at the Famine Countdown event?
The Famine Countdown event will be on the 23rd of August 2009 (Sun), from 12pm to 6pm. Together, we will count down the last 6 hours of the Famine, reflecting on what we have learned, sharing our experiences and enjoying a star-studded celebrity showcase. top
Will T-shirts and break-fast meals be provided?
It is up to your camp leader's discretion as World Vision has decided to channel t-shirt printing costs towards Famine Fund beneficiaries instead. Break fast meals will be arranged by your camp leader. top
